Doing even better

Thursday, July 23 - Once again this morning he got out of bed pretty much on his own and was able to stand and shift weight, but not enough energy for any steps. They again downsized the trach and capped it. He is now totally breathing through his nose and mouth without any problems. Tomorrow they plan to totally remove the trach. According to the GI doctor as long as his pancreas drains they will leave the feeding tube in. There is no accurate way to tell if the pancreas has returned to normal and he can start eating again. So they want to take that step very slow. Still in ICU because the house is full. Looking forward to tomorrow.
