Wednesday - 8:20pm - He was able to stand today with help of his walker, but could only do a tentative step. They downsized the trach and using his finger to block the air he can say a few words. He still does not consistently know where he is, what happened and how long he has been in the hospital. Doctor said he hopes to totally remove the trach in a few days. Still in ICU because there is not a bed in the particular unit the doctor wants Steve to be in. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.
