Steve day 13

Thursday, July 16, 2009 12:30pm- As the doctors pointed out to me, today is day 13. Compared to a week ago Steve is no worse but no better. Time to regroup. He is not awake enough to know that I am here. The trach went well, and I can tell he is more comfortable. He will be going to Radiology at 1:00pm to have a drain put in his pancreas. That will allow them to drain, culture and if needed put a scope in to look around. His white count is continuing to rise so they have changed his antibiotics. None of the various cultures of blood, lung, urine etc has grown any bugs.
