Wednesday, July 15 1:30pm - Today is a waiting day. Since Steve is having so many problems getting off the vent, he will have a traheostomy done sometime today, probably after 4pm. This will allow him to get rid of the tube in his mouth and throat and be more comfortable. Unfortunately, his white count has climbed a little and he has a fever. The surgeon and the critcal care specialist are going to have a conference this afternoon. So we are just waiting.
