Steve had a quiet, uneventful night. He is lightly sedated on the ventilator. Chest tube continues to drain but at a much slower rate. Spoke with the lung doctor this morning. Keep him on the vent for the weekend. Monday have an interventianl radiologist enlarge the drain to his pancreas in preparation to pancreatic surgery on Tuesday. Do not know if they will remove the whole pancreas or part. While he is asleep the surgeon will also go in through the chest tube opening and check out the lining of the R lung for any problems which would cause the collection of fluid. So we are in a holding pattern for now, praying Steve remains stable.
