In about 3 hours the doctors changed his vent from his mouth to a trach, drained fluid and put in tubes in both lungs, drained 3 liters of fluid off his abdomen, fixed an abdominal hernia, and cleaned out a lot of dead pancreas and other crud from his abdomen thru the drain track (he did not have to be opened). The surgeon seemed pleased with the surgery. He is already back in ICU. We will be able to see him in a little while. This sounds very encouraging. He will still have a long recovery.
Prayers have been answered.
